Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is seeking a Civil Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to lead day-to-day management and development of direct report teams in Chicago, Geneva, Oak Brook, or Spring, TX. You will oversee technical activities related to project delivery and ensure financial success of projects.

The role requires PE licensure, 10+ years of engineering experience, and strong communication. Offices include Chicago, Oak Brook, Geneva and Spring, TX with a path toward leadership and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure required.
  • Typically 10+ years of engineering experience.
  • Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of client standards, guidelines, systems, and equipment.
  • Understanding of national standards and guidelines.
  • Understanding of safe work practices in both office and field environments.
  • Understanding of employee policies and appropriate office conduct.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong proficiency in Engineering Design Programs (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
  • Ability to manage variety of tasks in highly organized manner within collaborative team environment.
  • Experience leading discipline design for projects and delegating tasks to team members.
  • Ability to perform quality reviews of project work and engineering documents and standards.
  • Attention to detail, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of individual project scopes and deliverable commitments.
  • Understanding of project areas of risk.
  • Understanding of vendor/subcontractor processes and contracts.
  • Understanding of Standard Hourly Rates, Unit Rate, Fixed Fee and Labor Rate Multipliers.
  • Understanding of billable and unbillable charge status.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds and work for prolonged periods at desk and computer.

About this Role

HBK Engineering is seeking a Civil Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) for our Spring, TX, Chicago, Geneva or Oak Brook office. This position is responsible for day-to-day management and development of direct report team members while ensuring delivery and execution of project work. This senior role involves directing and coordinating technical activities related to project execution and delivery, requiring a thorough understanding of both technical and financial aspects of HBK's work. The position may specialize in a sub-field within their area of expertise to align with long-term industry trends while maintaining technical competency to train and monitor team members in their duties. Office locations: Chicago, Oak Brook, or Geneva or Spring, TX


What You'll Do


  • Manage and develop direct report team members through day-to-day oversight and professional development

  • Direct and coordinate technical activities related to project execution and delivery

  • Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields

  • Advise in development of Project Proposals and RFP responses

  • Anticipate technical and constructability project challenges and minimize downstream project risk

  • Monitor that all work is performed under contract or gain approval for work outside standard contract sequence

  • Address concerns that may affect safety, budget, deadlines, or clients adversely

  • Establish positive relations within project teams and with supporting groups within the company

  • Take leadership roles in company-sponsored events and HBK Impact programs

  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across the organization

  • Represent the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $90,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000.00/Yr. depending on experience and qualifications.
