Job summary

Ashton North LLC in Nashville, TN is seeking a Preconstruction Estimator - Civil Construction to join our growing team. You will analyze drawings, specs, and proposals to prepare detailed cost estimates for civil projects.

Responsibilities include leading bid processes, soliciting subcontractor quotes, presenting estimates to senior management, and providing value engineering. 3+ years of civil estimating experience and proficiency with Civil estimating software are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an estimator in civil construction.
• Proven take-offs & estimating for a range of civil projects (excavation, sitework, utilities).
• Proficient in civil estimating software is preferred (Agtek, Bid-To-Win, HeavyBid).
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Eye for detail is essential.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Orchestrate the estimating & bid processes for civil projects.
• Identify labor, materials, and time requirements by studying proposals and plans.
• Solicit and analyze subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare bid packages and present final estimates to senior management.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits when necessary.
• Provide value engineering recommendations.
• Maintain historical cost data and develop estimating templates and tools.
