Geosyntec is offering a Civil or Geotechnical/Water Resources Engineering Intern position for Fall 2026 in our Atlanta or Kennesaw, GA office. The 13–15 week internship focuses on applying engineering knowledge to real-world projects and developing business skills for a consulting career.

Preferred candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil, geotechnical, or water resources engineering, with opportunities for additional rotation and exposure to fieldwork and client

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in civil, geotechnical, or water resources engineering (required).
• Experience with ArcView, CADD, and MS Office is preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.

Responsabilités

• Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based tools.
• Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
• Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
• Coordinate with engineers, geologists, office staff, and field personnel.
• Potential fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, inspections, and drilling oversight.
• Coordinate transportation to and from the office and project sites as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools;
• Technical writing of reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
• Data input and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
• Follow instructions from and interact with engineers, geologists, office administrative staff, CADD operators (draftsmen), contractors and construction personnel;
• Potential for fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, and drilling and contractor oversight; and
• Responsible for coordinating transportation to and from the office; and local travel or driving to project sites as needed.
• Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

Education and Licensure

• Currently registered in a Bachelor’s or Master’s university degree program in civil, geotechnical, or water resources engineering or related field. (required)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Experience with ArcView, CADD, and/or Microsoft Office. (preferred)
• Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, oral and written communication, and problem-solving skills. (required)
• Exposure to environmental regulations and/or contaminated site remediation via coursework or prior internship experience. (preferred)
• Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record for business travel to project sites. (required)
