Job summary

SCS Engineers is seeking a summer 2027 intern for our Duluth, GA office. The internship offers hands-on exposure to engineering and business operations across landfill, storm water, remediation, and sustainability projects, based in Duluth five days a week with a 40-hour schedule.

Applicants must be enrolled in civil/environmental/geological engineering and graduate by June 2029. Housing not provided; travel overnight may be required.USD $22–$25 per hour, full-time summer program.

Job description

What we are looking for

SCS Engineers is looking for a summer 2027 intern for our Duluth, GA office. This opportunity offers valuable hands‑on experience in both technical engineering and business operations through a diverse range of client projects while giving you the chance to explore the beginnings of your own career path.

As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals on projects centered around landfill construction, landfill permitting, storm water management, utility projects, soil and groundwater remediation, brownfield redevelopment, site development, and sustainability projects. You will typically work 40 hours per week and be based in our Duluth office 5 days a week.

How you can make an impact

You will contribute to our projects by assisting SCS project teams with the following tasks:

• Construction observation and documentation
• Environmental and construction materials sample collection
• Laboratory/compliance data management and review
• Compliance reporting
• Surveying
• Reporting and calculation preparation
• CAD drafting

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil, environmental, biological/biosystems or geological engineering and graduating by June 2029 required
• Must be willing to live in the Atlanta area for Summer 2027 (housing allowance will not be provided)
• Solid technical and computer skills (AutoCAD experience preferred)
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the SCS office required.
• Preference for candidates who demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in consulting and professional licensure upon graduation.
• A valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.

Pay Range

USD $22.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr.
