Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Civil/Mechanical Construction Inspector in California to provide quality assurance for complex wastewater treatment plant and pipeline construction projects. You will review construction documents, inspect contractor work, coordinate safety programs, and prepare daily inspection records and reports, with night or graveyard shifts required.

This role requires 10+ years in construction or inspection, familiarity with water facilities, and the ability to work with City agencies

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction and/or construction inspection experience.
• Experience with water/wastewater facilities, piping, and conveyance projects.
• Ability to read plans/schematics and interpret contract drawings.
• Able to work night/graveyard shifts, including weekends.
• Valid driver's license with good driving history.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents including plans and specifications; inspect plant and pipeline work for compliance; verify materials meet specs and safety standards.
• Assist safety representatives with job hazard analyses; monitor traffic control and site safety.
• Maintain accurate as-built drawings; support change orders and plan clarifications.
• Prepare inspection records and monthly progress reports with photos, tests and logs.
• Attend construction meetings and coordinate with contractors, agencies, utilities, and officials to ensure project completion with minimal public impact.
