Job summary

Orion Placement in Culpeper, Virginia seeks an experienced civil litigator to manage matters from strategy through resolution. You will draft briefs, conduct depositions, and participate in hearings, with direct client contact and negotiation responsibilities.

Active Virginia bar and 3+ years of civil litigation experience are required. This is a full-time, on-site role in Culpeper with a collaborative, hands-on practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from initial strategy through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, responses, and other litigation documents.
• Conduct and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, negotiations, and other proceedings.
• Develop case strategy, evaluate risk, and provide practical legal guidance to clients.
• Conduct legal research and produce clear, persuasive written work.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
• Collaborate with attorneys and support staff while maintaining ownership of assigned matters.
• Negotiate settlements and help move cases efficiently toward favourable resolutions.

Job description

• Take ownership of meaningful civil litigation matters and work directly with clients from strategy through resolution.
• Join an established, collaborative legal team where attorneys have room to exercise judgement and build their practice.
• Handle varied litigation work rather than being confined to a narrow case type.
• Gain hands‑on advocacy experience through discovery, depositions, hearings, negotiations, and other proceedings.
• More senior litigators are welcome, and strong candidates from in‑house or solo practice backgrounds will be considered.

This is a fully on‑site opportunity in Culpeper, Virginia, offering close collaboration with colleagues, clients, and the local legal community.
