Boutique Recruiting, in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to manage a diverse caseload across eminent domain, civil rights, and tort matters. You will handle discovery, pleadings, motions, and depositions while collaborating with senior attorneys.

The role requires a CA-licensed JD with up to 6 years of civil litigation experience, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Competenze

• JD from ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 1–6 years civil litigation experience; strong willingness to learn considered.
• Experience drafting pleadings, discovery responses, and substantive motions.
• Experience taking depositions and appearing in court.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills; able to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and with colleagues; client-focused approach.
• Experience in personal injury, civil rights, insurance defense, tort liability, or wrongful death litigation preferred.
• Experience in eminent domain, real estate litigation, or representing public entities a plus.
• Trial experience a plus.

Position Title: Civil Litigation Attorney

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Litigation Attorney to join a well-established civil litigation practice in Costa Mesa, CA. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload involving eminent domain, civil rights, personal injury, tort liability, and public agency litigation. The Litigation Attorney will handle discovery, draft pleadings and motions, take and defend depositions, make court appearances, and collaborate with experienced attorneys on complex legal matters.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in civil litigation, excellent legal research and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases independently while contributing to a collaborative team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who values mentorship, professional development, and meaningful client relationships.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $190,000 / annually, DOE

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple civil litigation matters, including eminent domain, civil rights, personal injury, and public agency disputes
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and prepare motions for summary judgment, motions to compel, and other litigation filings
• Take and defend depositions, attend court hearings, and participate in litigation proceedings
• Oversee document review, discovery production, and meet-and-confer correspondence
• Develop litigation strategies in collaboration with senior attorneys and shareholders
• Communicate with clients and provide updates regarding case developments, legal strategies, and potential outcomes
• Maintain accurate case documentation and manage competing deadlines across multiple matters
• Meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1,850 hours

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
• 1-6 years of civil litigation experience preferred; exceptional entry-level candidates with a strong willingness to learn will be considered
• Experience drafting pleadings, responding to discovery, and preparing substantive legal motions
• Experience taking depositions and appearing in court
• Strong legal research, analytical, and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with colleagues
• Professional, personable, and proactive approach to client service
• Experience in personal injury, civil rights, insurance defense, tort liability, or wrongful death litigation preferred
• Experience in eminent domain, real estate litigation, or representing public entities is a plus
• Trial experience is a plus
