Job summary

Orion Placement in Branford, CT is seeking a civil litigation attorney to manage matters from evaluation through resolution. You will develop case strategy, conduct legal research, and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests while taking and defending depositions.

You will appear in court for hearings and trials, participate in settlements, and prepare cases with exhibits and witnesses. Connecticut Bar admission preferred; JD required.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Connecticut Bar admission preferred.
• Civil litigation or trial experience preferred; flexible on seniority.

Responsibilities

• Manage civil litigation matters from initial case evaluation through resolution.
• Develop case strategy, conduct legal research, and provide practical advice to clients.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other litigation documents.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Appear in court for hearings, conferences, motions, and trials.
• Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and case resolution strategy.
• Prepare cases for trial, including exhibits, witnesses, legal arguments, and overall trial strategy.
• Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, risks, and recommended next steps.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and support professionals on complex litigation matters.
