Job summary

An Irvine, CA-based law firm is seeking a motivated Associate Litigation Attorney with civil litigation experience to join its office. This role offers mentorship, teamwork, and meaningful public sector work while supporting growth and long-term career development.

Responsibilities include handling a range of civil matters, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and preparing for trial. A J.D. and California Bar admission are required, with 2+ years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in the California State Bar.
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience preferred.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Interest or experience in public agency or municipal law is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other documents.
• Manage case strategy, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
• Represent clients in court appearances, hearings, and depositions.
• Work with public agency clients, including cities and counties, on community development and public safety matters.
