Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Renewables Site Design Lead Engineer to join our renewable energy team in one of our offices.

The role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, QA/QC, and completion of civil engineering design on renewable projects. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited), 5–8 years in the A&E industry, EIT certification required, and PE preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5-8 years of experience in the A&E industry.
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• EIT certification required; PE preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Extensive experience with county and state permitting.
• Good mentoring and time-management skills.
• Ability to adapt focus quickly and maintain a positive, solution-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform all aspects of civil design and technical solutions for utility-scale renewable projects.

• Conduct team meetings and coordinate with other disciplines to deliver projects.
• Prepare and support project proposals.
• Prepare budgets on assigned projects and review invoicing under a Project Manager.
• Identify additional scope and revenue opportunities and participate in BD activities.
• Provide ongoing communication with the client regarding the project.
• Establish goals for deliverables and maintain QA/QC goals.

Education

We are looking for a detail-oriented design engineer to join our highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Must have 5-8 years of experience in discipline within the A&E industry.
• Must be detail oriented and efficient in problem solving.
• EIT certification required, PE preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with department personnel and office staff; must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Extensive experience in county and state permitting preferred.
• Good mentoring skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Possess the ability to change focus quickly during a typical day.
• Positive and solution orientated approach to problems.

• Ideal candidate will have experience in renewable energy or display passion to learn about the renewable energy industry.
