Job Description:

Civil Drainage Engineer II – USA / Remote

Opportunity:

Would you enjoy working on a variety of civil engineering tasks related to small to large-scale transportation projects? Parsons is hiring a Civil Drainage Engineer II for design-build and design-bid-build projects across the USA, supporting various state and federal road and highway projects. This role can be based anywhere in the USA, with a hybrid work option if a local office is available, or fully virtual.

In this role, you will engage in engineering drainage and irrigation designs, hydraulic systems modeling, and drainage calculations. You will review construction details, erosion control drawings, perform quantity calculations, and ensure the accuracy of technical reports. Experience supporting state DOT projects is essential.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop engineering products that meet quality requirements, including problem definition, scope, budgeting, scheduling, technical direction, and reporting.
  • Design hydrology and drainage systems for road, highway, and bridge projects, including culvert systems.
  • Create detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, proposals, technical reports, and analyses.
  • Support other engineering activities as needed.
  • Provide guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers.
Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in road and highway drainage design, preferably with state DOT projects.
  • PE license is desirable but not required.
  • Proficiency in CAD and engineering software.
  • Experience with state DOT projects and permits is essential; experience with hydraulic modeling programs like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, Bentley StormCAD, etc., is preferred.
Security Clearance:

None required. This role is part of our Critical Infrastructure team, focusing on designing and delivering infrastructure projects that connect and protect communities worldwide.

Salary Range:

$72,900.00 - $127,600.00
