Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in San Antonio, TX seeks December 2026 and May 2027 graduates to join our civil engineering team. You will contribute to design, analysis, and implementation of transportation projects under a P.E. and assist in technical design, coordination, and ensuring project compliance.

You will prepare technical reports, review work of technicians, and collaborate with project managers to develop innovative solutions. EIT certification within 12 months is required or encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months from start date.
• Previous internship with civil design firm is beneficial.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

• Evaluate design alternatives by analyzing typical sections, alignments, right-of-way requirements, and cost to determine effective solutions.
• Review detailed plans and specifications to ensure conformity with project scope, design standards, and constructability.
