Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking December 2026 and May 2027 graduates to join our civil engineering team in Fort Worth, TX. The role supports design, analysis, and implementation of projects under a licensed professional engineer and offers hands-on experience in land development and district services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months from start date.
  • Internship with a civil design firm is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Mon-Fri, 8am–5pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical reports, studies, and documentation using MS Office Suite.
  • Direct and review the work of engineering technicians to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative engineering solutions.
  • Assist in the design and preparation of plans for land development projects, focusing on grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
  • Analyze design alternatives to address site constraints and meet client objectives.
  • Collaborate on permitting and regulatory compliance for site development projects.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining Capital Improvement Plans (CIPs) to support budgeting and financial forecasting for District infrastructure.
  • Contribute to the preparation of bond applications, feasibility studies, and related documentation.
  • Support the development of engineering reports such as Alternate Capacity Requests (ACRs), Re-rates, and Emergency Preparedness Plans (EPPs).
  • Assist in reviewing development plans, plats, and construction drawings for compliance with District and regulatory standards.
  • Provide support for construction oversight, including site visits, contractor pay application reviews, and project documentation.
  • Support the District Engineer in preparing and presenting materials for Board meetings.
