Westinghouse Electric Company LLC's WECTEC Staffing Services seeks a Civil/Geotechnical Engineer I based in Juno Beach, FL, with remote work options. This 11-month contract supports the Civil SME Team across a broad range of projects.

You will provide geotechnical reviews for wind, solar, energy storage, and transmission initiatives, offering best practices from concept through COD. Travel within North America is anticipated up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Minimum of four (4) years of geotechnical engineering experience including field investigations, lab data review, and geotechnical report development.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support to the Civil SME Team across multiple project phases.
• Deliver responsive engineering support for wind, solar, energy storage, and transmission projects.
• Maintain and promote best practices in civil and geotechnical engineering.
• Participate in design and constructability reviews and provide feedback to avoid schedule impacts.
• Support resolution of critical execution-phase issues affecting budget/schedule.
• Assist in defining project requirements and risk mitigation strategies.
• Perform due diligence related to emerging technologies.
• Review supplier performance and annual reports.

Opportunity Overview:

Civil/Geotechnical Engineer l base in Juno Beach, FL. You can work remotely for this Position. This is a 11-months contract assignment.(W-2) Travel Requirements: Travel within North America is anticipated up to 30% of the time.

You will support Civil Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) by providing civil and geotechnical engineering review. You will provide this review, along with best-practices guidance, for projects across the company. The support will span from initial concept through project commercial operation date (COD).

You will be a collaborative member of the Engineering and Construction (E&C) Civil SME Team. This team includes engineers with expertise in structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, site development, stormwater management, sediment and erosion control, and risk management.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Provide engineering support to the Civil Subject Matter Expert Team across multiple project phases.
• Deliver responsive engineering support for wind, solar, energy storage, clean fuels, substation, and transmission projects within the Engineering & Construction Department
• Maintain, apply and promote best practices related to civil and geotechnical engineering
• Participate in design and constructability reviews and provide and accurate comments and feedback to avoid schedule impacts
• Support resolution of critical execution-phase issues that could adversely affect project budget and/or schedule if not addressed promptly
• Help define and influence project requirements and scope, including assessment of execution risks and development of risk-mitigation strategies
• Perform due diligence related to emerging technologies
• Support equipment and material technical evaluations, including review of manufacturing and fabrication non- conformance reports
• Perform annual specification reviews and incorporate lessons learned
• Provide feedback related to supplier performance and annual report cards

Who You Are:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• Must have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in geotechnical engineering performing field investigations, reviewing laboratory data, developing geotechnical reports and recommendations, and observing construction activities
