Civil Foreman – Mont Belvieu, TX

About the Company

Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX, specializing in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. OPD is part of Koch Engineered Solutions and offers integrated construction and engineering services, providing a "one‑stop shop" for clients.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise construction crew(s) on the jobsite.
  • Conduct daily morning production meetings to discuss plans and concerns.
  • Assign tasks to crew members, ensuring proper training and safety compliance.
  • Plan and coordinate work priorities, material scheduling, concrete pours, and rebar ordering.
  • Enforce OPD and client safety policies, acting as a safety role model.
  • Inspect concrete and other work to confirm compliance with client specifications.
  • Plan equipment, soil treatment, and safety considerations for excavations, trenching, and other civil work.
  • Maintain a clean, organized jobsite.
  • Use computer and email to produce daily reports, employee discipline records, and safety job‑site assessments.

  • Actively participate in a strong safety culture and onsite safety meetings.
  • Recognize and report hazards and risks promptly.
  • Follow all OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
  • Be punctual and ready to work each scheduled shift.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and teamwork.
Physical Demands
  • Work outdoors under varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations.
  • Lift and carry objects up to 60 lbs.
  • Stand up to 11 hours per day, with breaks every 2.5 hours.
  • Use arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending frequently.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a civil foreman.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and pipe drawings.
  • Proficiency with sight level and transit for coordinates and elevations.
  • Experience in a gas plant construction environment.
  • Experience leading teams of 10‑30 people.
  • Commitment to safety culture.
  • Ability to communicate across crafts (civil, pipe, structural).
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work shifts up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
  • Pass pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years as a foreman.
  • Full competency in excavation, trenching, soil work, and safety considerations.
  • Progressive field leadership experience.
  • Experience across multiple crafts.
