Job summary

DL Glover Utilities is seeking an experienced civil estimator to drive profitable bids for underground utilities, drainage, paving, and heavy civil projects in Houston. You will produce accurate quantity takeoffs from blueprints and specifications and assemble transparent, cost-competitive bids.

Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, and Excel is required, and you will coordinate with project managers and suppliers to optimize pricing and ensure on-time bid submissions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years estimating underground utilities/heavy civil earthwork or paving experience.
• Strong blueprint literacy for complex quantity takeoffs and checking civil drawings.
• Advanced working knowledge of Bluebeam, Procore, and Microsoft Excel for construction data management.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from blueprints and civil specifications to build baseline project costs.
• Develop competitive, profitable bids for municipal and private civil projects.
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate material and subcontractor pricing to maximize margins.
• Manage multiple estimates and meet strict public bid deadlines.
• Collaborate with project managers, field ops, and executives for smooth handoffs.
• Utilize Excel and estimating software to generate transparent bid packages.
