Job summary

Miller Bros. Const., Inc. seeks an estimator to work with the Chief Estimator and Project Managers to create takeoffs, assemble estimates and bids using company software. The role may involve administering projects through close-out and supporting multiple project types.

Qualified candidates will have a civil/construction degree and at least 3 years in transportation/site-civil or structural infra estimation, with strong CAD/estimating tool proficiency and excellent organization.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil/Construction Engineering Technology, Construction Management or Drafting Technology.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in civil engineering/construction management related to transportation, site-civil or structural infrastructure.
  • Experience with CAD and estimating tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble, AGTEK, Excel/Word, Bluebeam, and HCSS suites.

Responsibilities

  • Create takeoffs and material/line-item quantities for estimates and bids.
  • Review contractual terms and prepare/organize supplier and subcontractor quotes.
  • Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings; assist in contract review, cost reporting and administration.
  • Support project managers/estimators across heavy highway, commercial, industrial and environmental projects.
