Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Civil Estimator in Danvers, MA to prepare complete civil construction estimates and quantity takeoffs focused on earthwork, excavation, grading, and water, sewer, and drainage utilities. The role requires 2+ years of estimating experience and hands-on takeoffs experience.

Responsibilities include analyzing bid documents, developing cost estimates, evaluating equipment needs, and coordinating vendor pricing.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of estimating experience.
• Experience performing detailed water, sewer & drain takeoffs.
• Civil construction estimating involving earthwork, excavation, sitework, site development, or underground utilities.
• Project management experience will be considered on a case by case basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete civil construction takeoffs from bid documents, breaking down components to establish total direct costs.
• Extract and analyze bid information affecting production rates, quantities, labor, equipment utilization, and pricing.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for earthwork, excavation, grading, water, sewer, drainage, and underground utilities.
• Estimate crew production and heavy equipment requirements for civil/sitework projects.
• Evaluate capabilities and limitations of heavy equipment to estimate utilization and costs.
• Review plans, specifications, bids to develop estimates.
• Obtain and incorporate vendor/subcontractor pricing into estimates.
• Support bid preparation and other estimating activities as required.
