Job summary

Water Works Engineers in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer with 2+ years of experience. EIT required; PE licensure or the ability to obtain it within one year is strongly preferred.

You will support planning, design, and construction of municipal water, wastewater, and recycled water systems, with travel within New Mexico. The role emphasizes collaboration, field observations, and construction support, including hydraulic modeling, drawings, permits, and QA/QC to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of two years of relevant engineering experience in water, wastewater, or recycled water infrastructure.
• EIT certification is required; PE licensure or ability to obtain it within one year is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with NM Environment Department (NMED) and USEPA permitting processes.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and design for water, wastewater, recycled water, treatment, and conveyance systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, site layout, hydraulic modeling, and prepare technical documents.
• Contribute to construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Assist with permitting, regulatory compliance, and environmental documentation.
• Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittals, field observations, and coordination with contractors.
