Job summary

Royal is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician I to support civil works and construction projects. You will perform quantity computations, verify field measurements, and assist project engineers and QA personnel by analyzing drawings, survey data, and construction documents.

The ideal candidate will have AutoCAD Civil 3D experience and a solid understanding of earthwork calculations and quantity takeoffs, with strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop, review, and analyze civil drawings and project data.
• Strong math, analytical and organizational abilities; ability to read specs and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity computations for construction projects (excavation, embankment, concrete).
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop surfaces, alignments and cross-sections.
• Verify field measurements and survey data for reported quantities.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for measurements.
• Assist in validating contractor pay requests and progress estimates.
• Prepare quantity calculation reports and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, survey personnel, project managers, and QA staff.
• Maintain accurate project records and electronic files.
• Conduct occasional field visits to verify measurements and progress.
• Support QA activities and special projects as assigned.

About Us

• Verify field measurements and survey data to ensure accuracy of reported construction quantities.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents to determine measurement and payment quantities.
• Assist in validating contractor pay requests and progress estimates.
• Prepare quantity calculation reports, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, survey personnel, project managers, and quality assurance staff.
• Maintain accurate project records and electronic files.
