Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Construction group in our Tampa office. You are pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, construction engineering or concrete technology (sophomore or junior status preferred) with a valid driver’s license.

Familiarity with MS Office is required, and you should be self-motivated, highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, construction engineering or concrete technology (sophomore or junior status preferred).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required.
• Candidates must be self-motivated, very organized and have excellent communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret project plans and specifications.
• Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities.
• Conduct field or laboratory material test.
• Maintain project files and record drawings.
• Prepare construction reports.
• Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections.
• Review technical data for adherence with project requirements.
• Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
• Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks.
• Monitor task budget and progress.
• Prepare project status and other reports.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals.
• Assist Project Managers.
• Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc.
• Attend seminars and/or training classes.
• Maintain excellent client relations.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
