What you can expect to be doing

Haley Ward is looking for a Project Manager for our Maynard, MA office. The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, designing, and controlling the activities of projects to best accomplish the successful completion while operating within established schedules, budgets, and QA/QC policy constraints.

The ideal candidate should possess a background in project management and hands‑on experience in the planning and design of water and wastewater pipelines, pump stations, and water/wastewater treatment facilities. Experience with municipal roadways, sidewalks and stormwater management believed to be highly beneficial. Relevant expertise encompasses hydraulic modeling, hydrology modeling programs, storm drainage systems, equipment selection, specification writing, cost estimation, feasibility studies, master planning, construction document development, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Our projects encompass diverse municipal water and wastewater system designs. Beyond technical proficiency, the candidate should excel in managing project tasks, overseeing project design, permitting, coordinating construction activities, and collaborating seamlessly with fellow team members.

Typical projects will be focused on serving the needs of municipalities with an emphasis on utility work, wastewater collection and treatment, water distribution and treatment, and stormwater management. Collaboration with team members across the organization is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting design concept of professional, economical, and effective sets of plans and specifications. Managing projects, overseeing, and delegating tasks, and engaging in design of projects
  • Promoting new business for the total company and for own area of expertise
  • Lead complex hydraulic design projects for municipal water distribution, collection systems, and treatment facilities
  • Engineer pump stations from concept to commissioning - including electrical controls, telemetry, and automation systems
  • Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work of engineers, technicians, and designers
  • Preparing agreements including scope, schedule, work plan, fees and monitoring financial performance of projects
  • Participating in career path planning and development, performance plans, mentoring, and resource sharing for supervised team members
  • Cultivating personal business relationships and seeking opportunities for cross‑selling to enhance and expand existing client relationships during and after projects
  • Support communities in the development of long term investment plans. Provide guidance to client communities on sourcing and securing funding of projects
What you will need to succeed
  • BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred
  • Other disciplines to be considered with experience
  • Advanced degree or experience in project management desirable
  • Minimum of 10 years of related industry experience is preferred
  • Registration (or ability to attain) as a Professional Engineer in MA is preferred
  • Sound mathematical skills are required
  • Working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Leadership acumen is essential
  • Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required

Location: Maynard, MA - Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work (Required)

The estimated range for this role is: $115,670 to $149,349. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications, credentials, skills, and demonstrated proficiency for the role. Compensation is reviewed at least annually each year. Compensation is also adjusted throughout the year to recognize position advancement, responsibilities and licensure and/or certification.
