Job summary

UEC is offering a summer internship in Denver, CO for Civil Engineering students (junior/senior or graduate). You will assist in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for transportation projects, support stormwater quality assessments, and contribute to multimodal design efforts including roadway, bicycle, pedestrian, and transit infrastructure.

Fieldwork and data collection across diverse project types are involved.

Qualifications

• Undergrad (Junior or Senior) or Grad student in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred.
• Coursework in transportation, water resources, or structural engineering beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for transportation projects, including basin studies.
• Support stormwater quality analysis and MS/BMP considerations for construction phases.
• Contribute to civil design for multimodal and highway projects (roadway, bicycle, pedestrian, transit).
• Perform field data collection and analysis across various project types.
• Assist in analysis and design of transportation structures (bridges, retaining walls, box culverts).
• Prepare reports, specifications, construction docs, and presentations.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation OpenRoads Designer, and structural analysis tools.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical engineering solutions.
