Job summary

Stantec in Charleston, SC offers a co-op opportunity for civil engineering students to gain hands-on experience in water infrastructure projects. You'll assist with project administration, prepare reports, gather data, and support design tasks across CAD and GIS tools.

Field observations and diverse engineering duties provide practical learning. Expect to develop skills in Microsoft Office, communication, multitasking, and a proactive learning attitude while working in a full-time internship

Responsibilities

• Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports
• Assisting technical staff with various project tasks, including researching, compiling, and evaluating project data, preparing reports, and performing calculations for design projects
• Perform modeling and design activities on a variety of water infrastructure projects
• Gaining exposure and performing basic tasks in CAD, GIS, and other design programs
• Performing construction observations and assisting with field work, as needed
• Completing other engineering/administrative duties as required

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for an extended period. An office presence is expected to maximize learning during the co-op period. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
