Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (EVI) team in Tampa, FL. You will work with experienced engineers on EV charging projects across commercial, retail, and fleet markets.

Gain hands-on experience in site development, grading, drainage, and utility coordination while supporting design through construction. This onsite internship offers exposure to multidisciplinary teams and construction documents, with opportunities to learn

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a junior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Interested in land development or electric vehicle infrastructure projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communicator and collaborative team player.
• Eager to learn in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site development and civil design for EV charging infrastructure projects.
• Support grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater design efforts.
• Participate in site layout, permitting, and utility coordination activities.
• Conduct site visits and field observations to better understand existing site conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, electrical, architectural, and structural engineers.
• Assist with preparing construction documents and engineering deliverables.
• Learn how civil engineering supports electric vehicle infrastructure projects from concept through construction.

What You’ll Do

As a Civil Engineering Intern on our Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (EVI) team, you'll work alongside experienced engineers and project teams supporting EV charging infrastructure projects across commercial, retail, and fleet markets. Throughout the internship, you will:

• Assist with site development and civil design for EV charging infrastructure projects
• Support grading, drainage, utility, and stormwater design efforts
• Participate in site layout, permitting, and utility coordination activities
• Conduct site visits and field observations to better understand existing site conditions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, electrical, architectural, and structural engineers

This is an onsite position based out of our Tampa, FL office.
