Job summary

IMEG Corp is offering a 10-12 week summer internship in Macomb, IL, focused on Civil design within municipal and transportation projects. You will support design teams, research equipment, and help maintain project documentation while gaining hands-on experience in a 100+ office firm.

Eligible candidates are currently pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering (minimum 2 years completed) with internship experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Two years toward BS in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Prior internship in building design consulting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist civil design work per code and IMEG standards.
  • Research commercially available equipment and resources.
  • Support client relations and project documentation.
  • Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines and suppliers.
  • Document design decisions and meetings; monitor progress.
  • Review project documents for accuracy before final check.
  • Assist with addendum preparation.
  • Conduct periodic site observations as required by contract.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with civil design work in accordance with code and IMEG standards
  • Research commercially available equipment and resources
  • Support client relations, project design notebooks, and permanent record documentation
  • Coordinate design and scheduling with other disciplines and suppliers
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project progress
  • Review project documents for accuracy and completeness before final check
  • Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement
What You'll Bring
  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
Skills/Abilities
  • May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Municipal and transportation-focused civil team serving Rock Island and Macomb, IL Roadway rehabilitation, MFT administration, and construction administration for city and county clients Bridge, culvert, water, and wastewater experience alongside land development and ADA improvements

Pay & Benefits

State of Illinois Pay Range: $22.00–$24.00 per hour

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location. Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
