Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is offering a Civil Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027 in the United States.

The role focuses on transportation engineering with exposure to highways and water resources, working alongside seasoned professionals in a fast-paced environment. Interns will engage in design calculations, plan development, cost estimates, and data preparation while gaining real-world experience across feasibility to final plan stages.

Qualifications

• Currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
• Knowledge of MicroStation (primary software) or AutoCAD preferred
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel is required

Responsibilities

• Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of solutions and systems for public infrastructure applications
• Develop plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules for use during construction
• Use of computer-aided engineering software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. Collects and prepares data for evaluation

• Providing support to engineering staff members as needed

Your impact

The engineering intern experience at Jacobs will provide engineering students an opportunity to gain real-world experience in Transportation Engineering. Interns will work alongside world-class professionals in a fast-paced, professional setting which provides students invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment.

The candidate would be exposed to tasks specific to Transportation Engineering with a focus in Highway and/or Water Resources Engineering.

Typical work tasks include:

• Perform calculations and evaluations in the design of solutions and systems for public infrastructure applications

The base salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $65,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
