Job summary

Schnabel Engineering seeks a temporary, full-time Civil Engineering intern for the summer of 2027, May through August, to gain practical experience in geotechnical engineering under senior engineers. The role emphasizes applying professional principles to real problems while building fundamental field, lab, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical field work, observe subsurface explorations, use GPS to layout borings, and conduct infiltration testing.
• Perform construction observation and materials testing at sites.
• Perform laboratory testing.
• Create basic plans and figures using AutoCAD and GIS.
• Provide support to engineers on preparing geotechnical proposals and reports.
• Some travel may be required.
