Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering students to join our Ashburn, Virginia office for an on-site internship. The role involves using AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and other tools to analyze, design, and QC project deliverables for clients.

You will contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis across multiple projects, learning program-specific software and gaining regulatory knowledge.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical or Agricultural Engineering.
• Pursuing degree from ABET-accredited program in listed majors.
• Candidate will learn one or more software programs for their discipline.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
• Contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines.
• Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and with Kimley-Horn’s practices and standards.

Education

ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering

ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
