Job summary

Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, seeks a Civil Engineering Student in Virginia Beach to assist in design and documentation within the assigned department. The role may include special projects and active involvement in project design and documentation.

Responsibilities include preparing design documents and marketing materials, researching trends in building mechanical engineering, and supporting construction-phase activities under supervision.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited program and second-year student in civil/architectural programs.
• Able to use common word processing, email and information management tools.
• Familiarity with design/production software is a plus.
• One engineering internship or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in discipline design tasks under supervision and lead engineers.
• Prepare project design documents and supporting materials.
• Develop marketing and presentation materials as directed.
• Research building mechanical engineering trends and technologies.
• Support construction-phase services, site visits, RFIs, shop drawings.
• Adhere to quality control policies and department standards.
• Participate in team meetings and coordinate with project team members.
• Receive guidance from PMs, Design Managers and senior engineers.
