Job summary

IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern for a 10–12 week summer program in Bettendorf, IA. You will support engineering analysis, design, field inspections, and reporting while learning from experienced engineers and consultants.

The internship covers municipal, transportation, and public works projects, offering hands-on project work, mentorship, and a path to full-time roles. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years completed.

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities.

IMEG is hiring a Civil Engineering Intern in Bettendorf, IA to support engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading design. Over 10-12 weeks, you will gain hands‑on experience while learning the civil engineering trade alongside experienced engineers and consultants. You will contribute to project documentation, coordination, and job site observations while helping the team work within project budgets and meet project goals and client expectations. This role supports municipal, transportation, and public works projects, delivering resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

Education and Experience

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required

• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Skills/Abilities

• May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing

• Strong interest in design consulting

• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM

• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
