Responsibilities

  • Identify and recommend purchase, modification and improvement of varied equipment and facilities
  • Manage aspects of large cross-functional projects with costs, schedule, performance, and deliverables for projects assigned
  • Define the scope of the project and select team members from within and outside of their discipline
  • Lead the completion of engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of varied, complex equipment, infrastructure, and facilities
  • Ensure that advanced day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support is provided to Maintenance
  • Lead the development of standards, processes, and procedures within the department
  • Suggest recommendations for improvement and various other duties as needed to support the business
  • Various other projects as needed to support the business

Education

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related technical degree
Completion of at least sophomore year by Summer 2027

As a Civil Engineering Intern at Cleveland-Cliffs, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern's education level and plant location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program in the field of Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or other related technical degree
  • Completion of at least sophomore year of study by the summer of 2027
