The Role: What You'll Do
As a Civil Engineer Intern, you will be an integral part of our design team, supporting both public and private sector projects that shape the Southwest Virginia landscape. You will:
- Design & Draft: Support the development of conceptual site layouts and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Solve Problems: Assist with grading design, earthwork analyses, and complex stormwater management systems.
- Navigate Regulations: Research municipal zoning and development ordinances to ensure project compliance.
- Get in the Field: Participate in site visits and field investigations to see how plans translate to reality.
- Build the Foundation: Help prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, and project proposals.
What You'll Bring
- Current Pursuit: You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program for Civil Engineering.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to help translate technical data into clear reports.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
