Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking engineering students to join our Fort Myers, Florida office. This on-site internship provides hands-on experience in civil and environmental engineering, working with software like AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, GIS, and more.

Interns will contribute to multi-project pre-construction tasks, learn regulations and standards, and collaborate with project managers across disciplines to deliver client visions for a safer, more sustainable built environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters).
• Majors include Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• Currently enrolled and on track to graduate, with relevant coursework and interest in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Use software to analyze, produce, and QC client deliverables.
• Assist in pre-construction civil design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis.
• Collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions for future built environments.
• Learn federal, state, and local regulations and internal standards.
• Gain familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, GIS and related programs.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering students to join our Fort Myers, Florida (FL)office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Interns will learn one or more software programs specific to their disciplines: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
  • Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
  • Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
  • Engineering Technology
