Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Boise, Idaho is seeking engineering students to join our office for an immersive, hands-on internship. This is not a remote position and you'll contribute to real projects under guidance.

You will learn software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and GIS while supporting the pre-construction design, permitting, and analysis tasks across multiple projects. Expect collaborative work across disciplines and exposure to industry standards and practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an ABET-accredited engineering degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or related fields.
• Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program is required.
• Ability to use technical software and work on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients using technical software.
• Contribute to pre-construction civil design, planning, permitting, and analysis.
• Collaborate across disciplines to realize clients' visions and learn industry practices.
• Learn software programs relevant to discipline (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, GIS).

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering students to join our Boise, Idaho (ID) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Interns will learn one or more software programs specific to their disciplines: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
  • Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
  • Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
  • Engineering Technology
