Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Baltimore, MD is seeking engineering students for an in-office internship. You will analyze, produce, and QC deliverables using software like AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D, while learning regulatory practices and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in pre-construction civil design, permitting, and analysis across multiple projects, with mentorship from project managers and engineers.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, Mechanical, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
• Pursuing or in process of ABET-accredited degree is acceptable for internship consideration.
• Strong interest in civil engineering design and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients.
• Assist in pre-construction civil design, planning, permitting, and analysis on multiple projects.
• Collaborate across disciplines and support project managers to realize client visions.
• Learn tools and software programs like AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, and GIS relevant to discipline.
• Develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and Kimley-Horn practices.

Job description

Kimley-Horn is looking for Engineering students to join our Baltimore City, Maryland (MD) office! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
• Interns will learn one or more software programs specific to their disciplines: AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro and/or GIS

Qualifications

• In the process of receiving an ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in one of the following majors:
  • Civil and/or Environmental Engineering
  • Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering
  • Engineering Technology

Hourly Range: $27/hr - $28/hr
