Job summary

Orange & Rockland is seeking an Engineering Drafter to prepare mechanical, electrical, structural and topographical drawings using CAD and hybrid software under direct supervision. This role supports the Engineering Drafting Group in adherence to company standards and industry norms.

Ideal candidates hold a High School Diploma or GED with four years of drafting experience, including AutoCAD, and possess strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with four years of documented drafting experience including AutoCAD.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Access.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical, electrical, structural and topographical drawings using CAD/hybrid software from sketches and catalogs.
• Draft to company and national standards including symbols and terminology.
• Assist in drafting work of higher classifications and select equipment/materials.
• Revise drawings from marked-up prints according to briefing.
• Prepare lists of material and specifications.
• Train and check work of lower classification draftsmen.
