Job summary

WSE Massey Engineering & Surveying Ltd. in Rochester, NY, is seeking a Civil Engineering Drafter at the outset of a drafting career or an experienced drafter seeking greater involvement.

You will work with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to prepare plans for land development and civil projects. • Associate degree or technical diploma in civil engineering technology, drafting, design, or a related field.
• Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D in civil engineering, surveying, construction, or land-development environments.
• Familiarity with grading plans, utility plans, street plans, site plans, and construction documents.
• Equivalent education, training, or relevant work experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering drawings, plans, and construction documents under the direction of engineers and project managers.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop site, grading, utility, street, stormwater, and erosion-control plans.
• Revise plans based on engineering redlines, agency comments, client requests, and field information.
• Assist with developing surfaces, profiles, alignments, pipe networks, and plan-production sheets.
• Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and other team members to identify missing information and resolve drafting conflicts.
• Review completed work for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with drafting standards before submitting for review.
• Maintain organized drawing files, project records, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with other drafting, design, and project-support duties as needed.

Position Type: Full-time, in person

Pay Range: $25.00–$45.00 per hour

Compensation within the posted range will be based on the candidate’s education, relevant civil drafting experience, AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency, and ability to complete assignments independently.

Position Overview

WSE Massey Engineering & Surveying is seeking a detail-oriented Civil Engineering Drafter to join our Rochester team. This position is well suited for someone beginning a drafting career as well as an experienced drafter looking for greater project involvement and professional growth.

As part of a small, collaborative firm, you will work directly with engineers, surveyors, project managers, and other drafters to prepare plans and construction documents for land development and civil engineering projects. Our work includes single-family, multi-family, commercial, industrial, municipal, and other site development projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering drawings, plans, and construction documents under the direction of engineers and project managers.
