Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a motivated civil engineer to lead drainage studies, site design and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, and flood-control analyses, with an emphasis on delivering quality professional services and meeting project budgets and schedules.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited), a NM PE license or eligibility, 4+ years in related studies, and experience with

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • A Master’s degree in a field directly relevant water resources engineering services a plus.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience working in hydrology and hydraulics studies, roadway drainage design, and flood-control management.
  • Proof of having passed the New Mexico Professional Engineer (PE) exam and within a year of obtaining a license, or an already licensed professional engineer in New Mexico.
  • Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic software such as: StormCAD, CivilStorm, HEC-RAS, HEC-RAS2D, HEC-HMS, FLO2D or similar software.
  • Experience with ArcGIS a plus.
  • Experience in the preparation of work plans, budgets, and project schedules is highly desired.
  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D platforms.
  • Bentley MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Using hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and computations tools to design and analyze complex drainage systems and stormwater management basins, as well as preparing FEMA studies such as CLOMRs and LOMRs.
  • Support design efforts involving site layout and geometry, grading and earthwork design, storm drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, water and sanitary sewer utilities, roadway and parking lot design, erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Design of stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements, including storm sewer networks, open channel design, and culverts.
  • Preparation of site drainage reports, design concept reports, and drainage master planning.
  • Responsible for the delivery of project discipline scope elements within budget and schedule.

Essential Job Functions

Annual Salary Range: $85,000 - $135,000+ depending on experience
