The annual base salary for this position is $136,177.60. Future salary increases are planned as follows: June 2026 – 4.57% increase to base pay (3.5% Across-the-Board + 1.07% Market Adjustment); June 2027 – 4.07% increase to base pay (3% Across-the-Board + 1.07% Market Adjustment).

The Civil Engineer position is posted to establish a six-month eligible list to fill current and future vacancies in the County 0Department of Public Works (DPW) Wastewater Management Section. Civil Engineers lead planning, design, and construction management of water and wastewater infrastructure, including pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, and ancillary equipment. Duties may include engineering calculations, modeling, contract administration, construction management and inspections, technical and financial analysis, regulatory permit management, and related duties. They may supervise professionals and coordinate with field operations staff.

Registration by the State of California as a Professional Engineer is required. Extensive experience in planning, design, and/or construction of water and wastewater infrastructure is highly desirable.
