Civil Engineer - P.E. Project Support Engineer
Location: Hybrid with some weekly travel to Peoria
Can reside in either Peoria or Chicago land area.
Salary: 90-100k, possibly more for a P.E.
Permanent Direct Hire

Reports To: Program Development Engineer
Position Summary:
The Project Support Engineer is accountable for and performs duties of both an administrative and technical nature in covering all public and private utility adjustments, permits and/or agreements, including highway related improvement projects, drafting, coordinating and processing all local agency agreements, and jurisdictional transfers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and directs the adjustment of utility and railroad facilities necessitated by proposed highway construction
  • Ensures all joint agreements and/or letters of understanding with local agencies are coordinated, prepared, and executed, within a time frame that meets project letting dates and schedules
  • Ensures that all utility permit requests meet established guidelines
  • Ensures that all utilities are coordinated for upcoming projects including drafting and executing necessary agreements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Current Engineer-in-Training. E.I.T.
  • 3+ years of experience in civil engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with SharePoint, or similar systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Certified IDOT Documentation Technician / Documentation of Contract Quantities or able to attain it within one year.
  • Reliable transportation is required as travel to Peoria is required

Skills:

  • Five years of experience in civil engineering
  • Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Illinois is a plus.
  • Previous experience with agreements related to transportation construction projects
  • Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
