Job summary

Ardurra, based in the Chattanooga, TN area, seeks an experienced Civil Engineering leader to head our Land Development practice. You will guide design, permitting, and planning for municipal and private projects, delivering high-quality site layouts, utilities, grading, and drainage.

Responsibilities include leading project teams, client service, business development, and mentoring staff. A TN PE is preferred and expertise in AutoCAD/Civil3D is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or other relevant discipline.
• PE license in TN is highly preferred.
• Approximately 8+ years of directly applicable experience.
• Comfort with AutoCAD and Civil3D or similar design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead large civil site projects from concept through final design.
• Monitor budget, schedule and quality within the team.
• Maintain positive client relationships as part of business development.

Job description

Ardurra is looking to hire an experienced Civil Engineering leader for our Land Development practice based in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area.

We are looking for someone excited to lead a successful team that performs a variety of engineering tasks involving design work, research, and preparation of drawings and designs for site layout, horizontal utility projects (water, wastewater, stormwater), site grading, and drainage, including permitting and planning to serve both municipalities and private clients. Local project and client experience in the Chattanooga, TN area will be essential for this opportunity.

Primary Function

The Team Leader will play an important role in leading, supporting, and delivering a variety of civil site projects for our diverse clientele encompassing campgrounds, multi-family developments, national franchises, large-scale developments, as well as municipal and government projects.

Key responsibilities will focus on project execution and delivery, providing exceptional client service, participating in business development, and mentoring the team. Innovation and collaboration will be highly valued.

Primary Duties

• Manage large complex projects from concept design through design development and final design
• Actively involved in monitoring the budget, schedule, and quality of projects within the team
• Maintains positive business relationships with clients as part of ongoing business development efforts
• Have positive and established relationships with local municipalities/agencies within the Middle Tennessee region
• Provide technical leadership for projects as a mentor to all levels of the team
• Form and lead project teams to support a positive high performing work environment

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or other relevant discipline
• PE license in TN is highly preferred
• Approximately 8+ years of directly applicable experience
• Strong organizational skills, and ability to function efficiently within a team environment
• Comfort with AutoCAD, and other design software preferably with Civil3D
