Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in New Albany, OH seeks a Civil Engineer to perform intermediate level civil site engineering for electric infrastructure projects. You will apply engineering knowledge to plan, analyze, and implement site grading, stormwater, drainage, roadway design, and permitting tasks.

Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil3D and collaboration with other engineers is essential. Travel about 10% to field sites within the region; occasional overtime may apply, with typical office hours Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited) with 2+ years of related engineering experience.
• Master's degree may be considered for entry at this level.
• ABET accreditation or equivalent recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil site engineering for Electric Substation, Transmission Line, and Telecommunications projects.
• Lead collaboration with higher-level engineers and stakeholders to solve design challenges considering safety, performance, cost, and constructability.
• Travel ~10% to field locations within a 5-hour driving distance of the office.
• Prepare technical reports and analyses to support project decisions.
