Job summary

raSmith is seeking a Civil Engineer – Site Design with 0-2 years of experience to join our multidisciplinary team. You will assist with site and paving plans, grading, erosion control, utilities, and stormwater calculations as we serve clients nationwide from our Illinois offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university.
• EIT certification is highly preferred.
• Experience in design of site-related elements for retail, commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, hospitality, mixed-use or redevelopment projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting engineering teams with pre-development due diligence, exhibit preparation, site engineering plans (site, paving, grading, erosion control, utilities).
• Assisting with supporting calculations and preparation of stormwater management plans and reports.
• Completing regulatory authority research and permitting.

Requirements

Civil Engineer – Site Design - 0-2 years experience - Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university and some applicable work experience
• EIT certification is highly preferred
• Experience in design of site-related elements for retail, commercial, industrial, multi-family residential, hospitality, mixed-use or redevelopment projects is preferred.
• Able to solve basic engineering problems and have good decision-making skills.
• Have excellent communication, detail orientation, interpersonal skills, and be a team player.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office are highly preferred.
• Applicable U.S. based work experience.
