Job summary

Vestal Corporation is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to oversee civil project design phases and ensure accurate, timely, and compliant deliverables. The role requires strong leadership in design concepts, coordination with multiple disciplines, and active client interaction.

You will supervise site layout and infrastructure design, support flood studies, and uphold Vestal’s standards while mentoring team members and maintaining robust working relationships across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience required.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of ASCE, AWWA, and International Codes is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop a civil design schedule to align with target deliverable dates.
• Lead discipline meetings, develop design concepts, and prepare pricing and proposal documents.
• Perform site layout, grading, drainage, sanitary sewer, and erosion control design.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Civil Engineer will oversee civil project design phases.

• Develop a civil design schedule to align with target dates for deliverables.
• Leads project strategy meetings within discipline, develops design concepts and recommends systems, produces pricing and proposal presentation documents, and outlines specifications.
• Perform site layout and design, grading, Storm water drainage, sanitary sewer design and erosion control design.
• Conduct flood studies.
• Develop pavement and roadway design for industrial and commercial projects.
• Coordinate with various disciplines for seamless project execution.
• Interface directly with clients and external partners.
• Maintain Civil Design/ engineering standards and procedures.
• Comply with Company’s Quality Control and Project Management procedures.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employees at all locations.
• Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a Vestal Corporation office.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Must be able to move about the office to access office equipment and other office buildings within the Vestal office complex.
• This position frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILL / ABILITY / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering equivalent is required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience is required.

• Registered P.E is required.
• Functional knowledge of ASCE, AWWA, and International Codes is required.
• Proficient user of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
