Job summary

Structural Technologies is recruiting a QA/QC Engineer for our Pompano Beach, FL office to lead QA/QC on shop drawings for post-tension systems and support detailing, installation, and repair activities.

You will work with detailing, coordination, shop, and estimating teams, staying updated with PTI and ACI codes and best practices, and may attend client meetings and site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree may be preferred.
• 3-5 years of post-tension detailing, design, and/or engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of PTI and ACI codes.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel design, mechanics of materials, and cast-in-place concrete construction.
• Experience in evaluation, assessment and repair of post-tensioned systems.
• Florida PE licensure preferred or ability to obtain quickly.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA/QC on shop drawings for post-tension systems and provide technical support for detailing, installation, and repair.
• Collaborate with detailing, coordination, shop, and estimating teams.
• Maintain current knowledge of post-tension design developments through publications, conferences, and industry discussions.

Job description

Structural Technologies is the exclusive licensee of VSL® post-tensioning systems in the United States. Structural Technologies is the single source for VSL® products and technical support in the United States - which have been used throughout the world since 1956 to build, repair and strengthen bridges, buildings, tanks, and special structures.

We are currently recruiting for a QA/QC Engineer to join our Structural Technologies/VSL team in our office in Pompano Beach, FL. As a QA/QC Engineer, you will be involved in quality control of shop drawings in addition to providing technical support for the detailing, installation and repair of various post-tension systems. You will work closely with our detailing, coordination, shop, and estimating teams. You will be expected to maintain current knowledge with the latest developments in post-tension design and construction by reviewing technical publications, attending technical conferences or professional society meetings, and discussions with industry representatives. You may be expected to attend client meetings and site visits for inspections, repairs, and coordination.

Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this position:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Candidates with a Master's degree in Engineering may be given preference)
• 3-5 years of experience in post-tension detailing, design, and/or engineering required.
• Good understanding of relevant PTI and ACI codes
• Demonstrated knowledge of reinforced concrete design, steel design, concepts, mechanics of materials, and cast-in-place concrete construction practice.
• Experience in the evaluation, assessment and repair of post-tensioned systems.
• High attention to detail as well as ability to prioritize work on several projects simultaneously.
• Florida PE licensure (or ability to obtain in a short time) will be given preference.
