Job summary

MacKay is seeking a Civil Engineer Project Manager in Roseville, CA, to lead land development projects from planning through design completion. You will manage client relationships, coordinate engineering teams, and ensure technical execution while upholding budgets and schedules.

The role requires a PE in California (or ability to obtain within 6 months), strong communication, and a proactive mindset. Hybrid work arrangement available with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 6+ years of civil engineering experience with land development focus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong knowledge of local development codes, standards, and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage land development projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and quality control.
  • Serve as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships.
  • Coordinate work of engineering teams, subconsultants, and support staff; identify scope creep.
  • Lead preparation of site development plans, reports, calculations, and permit applications.
  • Review and approve technical designs to ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
  • Support business development through identifying opportunities and proposals.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.*US Pay Range$135,000—$170,000 USDFull-time employees receive a well-rounded benefit package including access to our company-sponsored Medical (including an HSA High Deductible option), Dental, Vision, FSA, and Supplemental Life Insurance plans. We also offer 100% company-paid Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, and Long-Term Disability coverage. Employees are eligible to participate in our company's 401(k) plan with up to a 4% match.
