RTM Engineering Consultants is a civil and MEP engineering firm offering land development services across the United States. We hire an experienced EIT or PE to join our team and deliver multi‑disciplinary projects for K‑12, higher education, commercial, and municipal clients.

You will work on design, permitting, and project coordination, leveraging our collaborative culture and ongoing professional development opportunities within RTM University.

Qualifications

  • PE licensure required and active.
  • Proven ability to lead medium to large projects.
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing detailed plans, calculations, specs.
  • Navigate local, state, and federal permitting processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and manage multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Business development and client relationship experience.
  • Strong client communication skills.

Responsabilités

  • Apply civil engineering principles to land development projects.
  • Use Civil 3D to prepare exhibits and construction documents.
  • Design drainage, stormwater, water, sewer, parking, and roadways.
  • Review regulations and standards for permitting.
  • Analyze topo maps, reports, and data for project planning.
  • Make independent engineering decisions and solve problems.
  • Accept instruction from Senior Engineers and align with RTM standards.
  • Ensure quality of design, reports, and plans within budgets and schedules.
  • Perform site investigations and on-site observation.

Role Overview:

We are a Civil and MEP engineering firm that goes beyond a typical consulting role. We are hiring an experienced EIT or PE to join our team. The role will be focused on land development for a diverse client base, including K-12 and higher education, commercial, restaurant, office, municipal, park district, historic preservation and infrastructure improvement projects across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply principles, methods, and techniques of civil engineering technology as they relate to land development including design of drainage and stormwater systems, water systems, sanitary sewer systems, parking and roadways
  • Utilize Civil 3D software to prepare exhibits and construction documents
  • Utilize stormwater management and storm sewer software to design and permit land development projects
  • Reviews regulations and standards necessary to carry out project design and permitting work
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods
  • Receives instructions from Senior Engineers as to the general results expected
  • Responsible for accuracy and quality of engineering design, reports and plans and maintain conformance to budgets, schedules, and RTM standards
  • Perform site investigations and construction observation on-site services
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Strong project coordination and delegation skills.
  • Experience in leading and managing medium to large-scale projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations
  • Expertise in preparing and reviewing detailed engineering plans, calculations, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in navigating and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and permitting processes.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and manage multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Have strong project coordination, delegation, creative problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Involvement in business development activities, such as proposal writing, client acquisition, and fostering client relationships.
  • Strong client management and communication skills, including understanding and addressing client needs and expectations.
  • Ability to accurately and consistently execute QA/QC processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills are required.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Marketing and business development skills suitable to assist the Business Development team with client expansion opportunities.
  • Ability to manage, mentor and develop multiple project teams.
Estimated Starting Salary Range:

$120,000.00 - $160,000.00 USD
