Job summary

Abonmarche is seeking a Project Manager for our Benton Harbor, MI office. You will act as the client’s project champion, ensuring goals and schedules are met while coordinating with Abonmarche staff to deliver profitable projects.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, is a Licensed PE in Michigan, and has 5+ years in civil engineering with project management experience in municipal, roadway, or site design projects. Strong communication and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan.
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering.
• Experience as project manager on municipal, roadway, sanitary sewer, water main, or site design projects preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares proposals, contracts, and subcontracts.
• Establishes project deadlines and tracks progress and follow-up with status reports.
• Leads kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and client meetings.
• Works with Business Development to identify, evaluate and pursue opportunities.
• Collaborates with team members to establish roles, schedule, and budget for new projects.
• Monitors project budgets and scope of work.
• Reviews plans and reports to ensure they meet client needs.

Responsibilities & Duties:

The Project Manager is responsible for being the client’s project champion and partner at Abonmarche and ensuring the Client’s goals and schedules are met while coordinating with Abonmarche staff and schedules in a profitable manner.

• Prepares proposals, contracts, and subcontracts
• Establishes project deadlines and tracks progress and follow up on all aspects of a project (deadline, permits, etc.) as well as provides weekly and/or monthly status reports
• Leads kick off meetings, progress meetings, and client meetings
• Works with Business Development to identify, evaluate and pursue opportunities
• Works with team members as well as other technical staff to establish team roles, project schedule, and budget for new projects
• Monitors project budgets and scope of work
• Reviews plans, reports and other work product to confirm that they meet the client’s needs

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering
• Experience in a project manager role for any of the following types of projects is preferred: municipal, roadway reconstruction, sanitary sewers, water mains, storm sewers, trails, traffic signals, site design for residential, commercial, educational, and industrial projects
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team
• Good verbal and written skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs
