Job summary

Abonmarche seeks a Project Manager in Grand Rapids, MI to lead client projects from kickoff to closeout and ensure goals and schedules are met. You will manage budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams, preparing proposals and maintaining client communications.

The ideal candidate has a PE in Michigan, 5+ years in civil engineering, and strong verbal/written skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan.
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering.
• PM experience on municipal, roadway, sanitary sewers, water mains, or similar projects is preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

• Act as the client’s project champion and partner to ensure goals and schedules are met.
• Prepare proposals, contracts, and subcontracts.
• Establish project deadlines and track progress; follow up on all aspects (permits, etc.).
• Lead kickoff, progress, and client meetings.
• Collaborate with Business Development to identify and pursue opportunities.
• Coordinate with team members to define roles, schedule, and budget for projects.
• Monitor budgets and scope of work.
• Review plans and reports to ensure client needs are met.

Abonmarche is seeking a Project Manager in our Grand Rapids, MI office.

Responsibilities & Duties:

The Project Manager is responsible for being the client’s project champion and partner at Abonmarche and ensuring the Client’s goals and schedules are met while coordinating with Abonmarche staff and schedules in a profitable manner.

Prepares proposals, contracts, and subcontracts

Establishes project deadlines and tracks progress and follow up on all aspects of a project (deadline, permits, etc.) as well as provides weekly and/or monthly status reports

Leads kick off meetings, progress meetings, and client meetings

Works with Business Development to identify, evaluate and pursue opportunities

Works with team members as well as other technical staff to establish team roles, project schedule, and budget for new projects

Monitors project budgets and scope of work

Reviews plans, reports and other work product to confirm that they meet the client’s needs

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Michigan

5+ years of experience in civil engineering

Experience in a project manager role for any of the following types of projects is preferred: municipal, roadway reconstruction, sanitary sewers, water mains, storm sewers, trails, traffic signals, site design for residential, commercial, educational, and industrial projects

Self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team

Good verbal and written skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Suite programs
